IBM didn’t (that I saw) talk much about this publicly or give customers a chance to provide feedback about the decision. I know it was raised at the UG in NY and I recall a number of people saying it would be a significant issue for them (myself included) as
 is the fact they no longer support Debian with scale 5.0. <br>

I’d raised the issue on the mailing list after the UG trying to start the discussion but IBM said they weren’t ready to talk about it publicly and I can only guess they had already set their sights and didn’t actually want feedback. This is actually pretty
 frustrating. I’m tempted to open an RFE but most of my RFEs either have been rejected or just sit idle so I’m not clear there’s a benefit.

Yes the integrated protocols are the Samba and Ganesha that are bundled <br class="null">
with Spectrum Scale. These require the use of the CES component for <br class="null">
monitoring the protocols. If you do use them then you need to wait for a <br class="null">
release of Spectrum Scale in which the integrated protocols are also <br class="null">
supported on RHEL 7.4. <br class="null">

Grr, this might explain why I experienced unhappiness when I tried to start <br class="null">
my long-delayed AFM based migration over the weekend. I had previously <br class="null">
tested AFM and found everything working, but 7.4 may have slipped in last <br class="null">
month. The AFM relationship seems to work but `mmafmctl premigrate` <br class="null">
commands fail. I would revert packages if I could figure out where the <br class="null">
issue lies. <br class="null">
